Typically, an OUPV Credential is
used in the context of small-scale fishing boats, SCUBA boats, whale-watching, and
fishing Guides and to meet the requirements for U.S. Border Patrol Marine
Interdiction Agent positions. To obtain an OUPV Credential, 360 days'
experience on Inland or Near Coastal waters is required. Of the 360 total days,
90 days have been in the last three years. It should be noted, you have one
year after completing this course to meet the USCG sea-time requirement.
Note: While mastering the lessons
of your online course, you do not want to be saddled with a less-than-adequate
computer or online learning skills. If your computer skills and nautical
charting skills are less than average, we suggest you choose the extended
option. With this option, you will have a licensed captain help you navigate
the course and any technical issues.
No testing at the USCG Regional
Exam Centers is necessary. Atlantis will administer the final USCG-approved
proctored examination. We offer each student three(3) options to test.
Option One: ( paper-pencil)
In-person proctored testing, must agree and follow the testing institution's
COVID-19 steps to protect themselves and others at all times, including proper
use of face masks, social distancing, and hand hygiene during testing. All
proctored test facilities meet all the requirements of the USCG and as
identified at 46 CFR 10.910.
Option Two: ( Online) In-person
proctored testing, must agree and follow the testing institution's COVID-19
steps to protect themselves and others at all times, including proper use of
face masks, social distancing, and hand hygiene during testing. All proctored
test facilities meet all the requirements of the USCG and as identified at 46
CFR 10.910.
Option Three: Live Remote Proctoring,
a secure and non-invasive
platform that uses professional proctors and technology to monitor examinees
live while they complete our 4-part final certification exams. This method of
test delivery allows the examinee to take the certification exam from their
home, office, or a remote site, using their personal computer. The process is
secure, easily accessible, monitors testing activity, and records all aspects
of the exam session. Candidates who would like to choose live remote proctoring
will need to run a system and webcam test on the computer they plan to take the
examination before registering to ensure it will meet remote proctoring
requirements. If they meet the requirements, they can move forward with
scheduling Live Remote Proctoring.

accompany the application verifying experience claimed and vessel details. Depending
on Sea Service experience, this course will qualify the student in one of two
