To obtain an OUPV Credential, 360 days' experience on Inland or Near Coastal waters is required. Of the 360 total days, 90 days have been the last three years. It should be noted, you have one year after completing this course to meet the USCG sea-time requirement.

No testing at the USCG Regional Exam Centers is necessary. Atlantis will administer the final USCG-approved proctored examination. We offer each student three(3) options to test.

All proctored test facilities meet all the requirements of the USCG and as identified at 46 CFR 10.910.

All proctored test facilities meet all the requirements of the USCG and as identified at 46 CFR 10.910.

Option Three: Live Remote Proctoring,
a secure and non-invasive platform that uses professional proctors and technology to monitor examinees live while they complete our 4-part final certification exams. This method of test delivery allows the examinee to take the certification exam from their home, office, or a remote site, using their personal computer. The process is secure, easily accessible, monitors testing activity, and records all aspects of the exam session. Candidates who would like to choose live remote proctoring will need to run a system and webcam test on the computer they plan to take the examination before registering to ensure it will meet remote proctoring requirements. If they meet the requirements, they can move forward with scheduling Live Remote Proctoring.

Sea Service/Experience can be counted on your vessel. A Sea Service form and proof of ownership are required. ( we provide all your forms) Experience on other persons' vessels can also be counted, however; a Sea Service form filled out and signed by the owner must accompany the application verifying experience claimed and vessel details. Depending on Sea Service experience, this course will qualify the student in one of two formats:

OUPV Inland License (Including Great Lakes, Inland Lakes, and Streams) requires a minimum of 360 on water days of experience in the operation of vessels.
